Overview
Responsibilities
- Design nuclear and industrial process systems and sub-systems from concept through final design
- Develop and maintain mass and energy balance models for system performance and analysis
- Coordinate and integrate results from multi-discipline analyses (thermal, structural, seismic, pipe stress, heat transfer) into system design
- Apply industry codes and standards (ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA) to system designs
- Develop system documentation including: System Design Descriptions, Engineering Design Specifications, Interface Control Documents
- Support design package development including P&IDs, 3D models, and system drawings
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines (mechanical, I&C, civil, nuclear)
- Provide technical oversight of suppliers and support design reviews
- Support testing, validation, and system qualification activities
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline
- 10+ years of experience in system design and engineering
- Strong background in thermodynamics, fluid systems, heat transfer, and mechanical/process systems
- Experience building and maintaining mass & energy balance models (Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus)
- Ability to read and develop P&IDs
- Experience with complex system integration and multi-discipline coordination
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
