Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support high-visibility executive transport and military aviation programs in Oklahoma City, OK. This role focuses on systems verification, requirements analysis, test strategy development, and data analysis planning across multiple specialized aircraft platforms used for senior leadership transport, airborne surveillance, early warning, and strategic strike missions.

The engineering environment includes modernization efforts involving advanced radar systems, hypersonic weapon integration, and next-generation digital communication architectures. This position is 100% onsite and requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer:

  • Develop, decompose, and allocate system requirements supporting complex aviation and defense programs.
  • Conduct logical and functional decomposition activities to support system architecture development.
  • Support architecture synthesis and documentation for complex aircraft systems and mission capabilities.
  • Ensure verification and validation activities meet established success criteria; review test directives, procedures, and test philosophy documentation.
  • Support FAA and military certification activities across multiple aircraft platforms.
  • Perform systems analysis activities including Technical Performance Measures (TPMs), risk management, issue resolution, opportunity assessments, and SEIT metrics reporting.
  • Participate in technical reviews, customer meetings, design reviews, and cross-functional working groups.
  • Develop and maintain architecture models, requirements databases, system specifications, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate directly with customer organizations to ensure technical alignment and mission success.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members regarding engineering processes, best practices, and deliverable quality.
  • Support periodic domestic travel for customer and supplier engagements.
  • Utilize MBSE and engineering tools including MSOSA, CAMEO, Rhapsody, DOORS, 3DX, and TeamCenter.

Preferred Domain Knowledge:

  • Military radios and communications systems.
  • Navigation and mission systems.
  • Aircraft networking and cabin systems.
  • In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems.
  • Classified processing environments.
  • Avionics architectures and defensive systems.
  • FAA and military airworthiness requirements.
  • ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 data bus architectures.

Qualifications of the Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with system architecture development and modeling tools such as CAMEO, MSOSA, or Rhapsody.
  • Experience using requirements management tools, including IBM DOORS.
  • Experience supporting requirements verification and validation activities.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Strong systems thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs), logical architectures, requirements specifications, and Statements of Work (SSOWs).
  • Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity management processes.
  • Experience supporting Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Experience supporting systems integration and testing activities in laboratory, ground, and flight environments.
  • Experience with FAA, EASA, and military airworthiness certification efforts.
  • INCOSE Certification preferred.

Compensation of the Systems Engineer:

  • Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000+ based on experience and qualifications
