System Engineer - Mid-Level - System Administrator (SA) - Skill Level 2 Location: Fort Meade, MD (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required) We are seeking a Linux-focused System Administrator (Level 2) to support a mission-critical program within the Intelligence Community. This role is responsible for the administration, security, and operational health of Linux-based infrastructure across virtualized, containerized, and classified environments. This position is fully onsite within a SCIF and requires an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph prior to consideration. Responsibilities Administer and maintain Linux environments including RHEL, Rocky Linux, and CentOS Perform system hardening, patching, and performance tuning Apply and maintain DISA STIG configurations and remediate vulnerabilities Support System Security Plan (SSP) activities and RMF compliance requirements Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts Manage PKI operations including certificate lifecycle and TLS configuration Install and support Secure Telephone Equipment and Network (STE/STN) infrastructure Deploy and manage containerized environments using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift Administer virtual environments including VMware vSphere and KVM Manage storage systems including NAS, SAN, LVM, and distributed storage Configure and troubleshoot networking, firewalls, and system connectivity Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting and operational support Maintain system documentation, configurations, and compliance artifacts Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience 5+ years of system administration experience in DoD or Intelligence Community environments Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required Strong Linux experience across RHEL, Rocky Linux, and or CentOS Experience with DISA STIGs and compliance tools such as SCAP Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 and RMF processes Experience supporting SSP, A&A, or ATO activities Hands-on experience with PKI, TLS, and cryptographic standards Experience with container platforms and virtualization technologies Strong networking fundamentals and firewall management experience DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification Preferred Qualifications Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack, or Chef Proficiency in Bash and or Python scripting Experience with OpenShift in classified environments Familiarity with cross-domain solutions Experience with cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or C2S Red Hat RHCSA or RHCE certification Work Environment Fully onsite role in a SCIF at Fort Meade, MD Mission-focused, highly regulated environment Collaboration with engineering, security, and operations teams Metasys Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
