Position Summary: We are seeking seeking Systems Engineer is responsible for the endtoend definition, design, integration, and verification of complex systems, ensuring that functional, performance, safety, and reliability requirements are met. The Engineer works across disciplines (hardware, software, test, manufacturing, and customers) to translate needs into requirements, develop system architectures, manage interfaces, and support validation and launch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Elicit, analyze, and document stakeholder and customer needs, and translate them into clear system and subsystem requirements.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, block diagrams, and interface definitions that allocate requirements to hardware, software, and other system elements.
- Manage requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle, ensuring each requirement is implemented, verified, and validated.
- Coordinate and lead technical discussions between hardware, software, test, and manufacturing teams to resolve systemlevel issues and make design tradeoffs.
- Define and manage system interfaces (electrical, mechanical, network, software) and ensure compatibility across all subsystems.
- Support development of system level Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) and risk assessments; track and drive closure of key technical risks.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of Verification and Validation (V&V) plans, including test strategies, test cases, and acceptance criteria at system and subsystem levels.
- Analyze test results and field data to confirm system performance, identify root causes of issues, and support corrective actions and design improvements.
- Support change management by assessing systemlevel impact of proposed design changes and updating requirements, architectures, and documentation as needed.
- Prepare and present technical reviews, status updates, and decision papers to internal stakeholders and, when required, to customers.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives related to systems engineering methods, tools, and best practices.
REQUIREMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in systems engineering, product development, or a closely related role working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to decompose high level customer needs into system and subsystem requirements and maintain traceability.
- Familiarity with system architecture development, interface control, and documentation practices.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to understand interactions between hardware, software, and processes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical topics to nonspecialists.
- Proficiency with standard office tools and comfort learning specialized engineering or requirements tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with requirements management tools (for example DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar).
- Background in a relevant domain (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, medical devices, or telecom).
- Knowledge of systems engineering standards or frameworks (for example INCOSE practices, ISO/IEC 15288, or similar).
- Experience with model based systems engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (e.g., SysML).
- Exposure to structured development and quality processes such as DFMEA, DVP&R, and configuration/change management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional technical activities and influence decisions without direct authority.
TRAVEL REQUIRED (%):
>50% travel to meet customers and suppliers with day travel to the various manufacturing facilities as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to use and understand Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint, Microsoft (email). This is additional to the computer skill requirements as stated in the requirement qualifications.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read and understand engineering prints/drawings. Good level of analytical skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on a team.
- Ability to guide the efforts of support personnel.
- Good team building skills.
