Position Overview:

The System / Network Administrator is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's network and server infrastructure, workstations, and phone systems. This role ensures reliable, secure operation of company systems and provides daily support to end users.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Manage and maintain the company's server and network infrastructure.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware.
  • Install and maintain servers - Windows and Linux; physical and virtual.
  • Manage company email systems.
  • Perform data backups in accordance with MIS best practices.
  • Set up and configure phones and computers for new users.
  • Create, configure, and maintain user accounts.
  • Install and maintain software on servers and workstations.
  • Monitor system jobs and processes, and ensure proper operating procedures are followed while handling queries, error messages, and machine malfunctions.

Detailed Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • Windows Domain Controllers, Windows Servers, Windows CALs, and Active Directory.
  • Exchange Server SE (on-premise).
  • CentOS Linux and AlmaLinux member servers.
  • Cisco firewalls, Dell switches, and Dell servers.
  • TrueNAS/FreeNAS SANs.
  • XCP-ng (XenServer) virtualization.
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and SSL/TLS certificates.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Backup and disaster recovery: scheduled backups, offsite rotation, and test restore.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
  • Familiarity with Service Advisor, MAN-cats, and MANTIS.
  • Strong documentation and security management (credential management, patching)
  • VoIP phone systems (ShoreTel/Mitel or comparable).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science preferred.
  • Experience providing the full range of administration for Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated experience administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing physical and virtual server and network environments.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold and manipulate office equipment, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to carry up to 50 pounds alone. The employee may occasionally be required to balance or climb short distances. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aides.
