About the role

We are seeking an experienced System Thermal-Hydraulics Analyst to support advanced nuclear system analysis and safety evaluations. The successful candidate will perform detailed system-level thermal-hydraulic modeling and contribute to analysis supporting reactor design, safety margins, and transient/accident behavior.


What you'll do

  • Develop, execute, and maintain system thermal-hydraulic models using RELAP5-3D code.
  • Perform steady-state and transient analyses for nuclear systems, including normal operation, off-normal events, and accident scenarios.
  • Interpret and document analytical results to support licensing, design decisions, and safety assessments.
  • Collaborate with reactor designers, safety analysts, and experimental teams to support integrated system evaluations.
  • Participate in code verification, validation, and benchmarking activities against experiments or operating data.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, analysis documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • MSc in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience performing analyses with system thermal-hydraulic codes such as RELAP5 / RELAP5-3D, and/or TRACE.
  • Strong understanding of single and two-phase flow, heat transfer, and nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex analysis tasks.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DOE, NRC, or national laboratory projects.
  • Familiarity with model development best practices and QA requirements for safety-related analysis.
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts.
  • Experience on experimental thermal hydraulics is a plus.
