Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Basic Qualifications: Systems Administrator 5
Bachelors Degree and 15 years of experience. Masters Degree and 13 years of experience. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelors Degree.
Special Requirements: Systems Administrator 5
Technical Team Leadership: Lead the UNIX/Linux administration team, providing guidance, mentoring, training, and performance feedback.
Project Management: Oversee major infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Serve as the final escalation point for complex system issues.
Security & Compliance: Design and audit security configurations, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
This is a hybrid-remote position. We expect this position to be onsite two to three days per week.
The first weeks of training will be onsite.
