Summary

American Credit Acceptance is seeking a Systems Administrator I to join our Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering team. This role is designed for recent graduates and early-career technology professionals who are passionate about cloud computing, automation, AI, cybersecurity, and modern infrastructure.

The Systems Administrator I will work alongside experienced Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Network Engineers and business teams to support and improve ACA's technology environment, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Windows Server, virtualization platforms, and enterprise cloud services.

This position goes beyond traditional server administration. Successful candidates will learn how modern organizations leverage cloud platforms, automation, infrastructure-as-code, observability, identity services, and AI-assisted operations to build secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the health, performance, availability, and security of ACA's cloud and on-premises infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and observability tools.
• Assist with administration of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure services.
• Perform routine operational tasks including account management, server maintenance, patch validation, backup verification, and system health checks.
• Support identity and access management activities while following security and compliance requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting infrastructure issues involving servers, operating systems, cloud resources, identity services, storage, virtualization, and enterprise applications.
• Learn and assist with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Python, Git, and approved automation platforms.
• Gain exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and assist with maintaining cloud resources deployed through automation frameworks.
• Support enterprise backup, disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity activities.
• Use approved AI-assisted tools to summarize logs, research technical issues, generate documentation, identify troubleshooting paths, and improve operational efficiency while validating outputs against established standards.
• Document procedures, configurations, recurring solutions, system inventories, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in change management, incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis activities.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Network, DevOps, and Application Development teams on technology initiatives.
• Participate in technical training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
• Participate in after-hours support or on-call responsibilities after achieving appropriate readiness and training.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, or a related field.
• Zero to two years of professional experience.
• Internship experience, cloud labs, coursework, home labs, certification labs, or technical projects are considered valuable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience gained through internships, academic projects, home labs, GitHub repositories, hackathons, or personal technology projects.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud services.
• Exposure to PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Git or version control concepts.
• Basic understanding of automation and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or cloud virtual machines.
• Interest in cloud engineering, automation, cybersecurity, observability, or AI-assisted operations.
• Experience using AI productivity tools such as Cursor, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
