Cimarron is seeking *Systems Administrator (Linux/Storage) *to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Duties:
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers and systems.
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot storage systems and arrays.
- Follow developer documentation and configuration management processes to implement system changes.
- Use developer-provided documentation to build and configure server and system hardware/software to baseline specifications.
- Research technologies and apply optimization techniques to ensure efficient system operation.
- Perform physical inspections and analyze system/event logs to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Support integration managers with problem definition and root cause analysis.
- Provide timely status updates on task progress and troubleshooting efforts to leadership and stakeholders.
- Recommend and help execute work plans that support project timelines and critical-path objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams and customers to support technical operations.
- Identify and report errors in developer documentation through proper channels.
- Utilize the REMEDY ticketing system to log, track, and document issues and resolutions.
- Support off-hours mission activities through evening and weekend work as required.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership position.
- 7 or more years of directly related experience in IT systems, including installing and configuring operating systems, managing virtual machines, and performing advanced troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and backup solutions.
- Proficiency with storage management tools such as NetApp, EMC, Dell, or IBM.
- Experience with storage protocols including iSCSI, FC, NFS, and SMB.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage-related issues.
- Experience building, configuring, and deploying servers/systems using VMware 7.0 or higher.
- Administration experience with RHEL 7 and 8 using the Command Line Interface.
- Current DoD 8570 Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience with Ansible automation.
- Network troubleshooting expertise.
- Familiarity with implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Experience with HP server hardware.
- Experience working with NetApp storage systems.
- Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems, and MDIOC operations.
- Project management experience.
- Degree in an IT or Engineering-related field.
