Job Title: Systems Administrator
Location: Rome, NY (100% Onsite)
Rate: 52/hr on W2
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens Only
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability to ensure optimal operations.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
Perform routine system maintenance, patch management, upgrades, and security updates.
Configure and maintain virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware.
Implement and maintain system security controls, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
Manage Active Directory accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Perform system backups, disaster recovery, and restoration procedures.
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and cybersecurity teams.
Research and recommend new technologies to improve system performance, reliability, and security.
Support compliance with DoD security policies and Information Assurance requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of Systems Administration experience.
Strong experience administering Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Experience with:
Windows Server
Linux Administration
Hyper-V or VMware virtualization
Active Directory
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
System backups and disaster recovery
Hands-on experience with scripting using:
PowerShell
Bash
Python
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote technical teams.
Required Certifications
One of the following DoD 8140 compliant certifications is required:
Security+
SecurityX
CASP+
Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II equivalent certification
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance (Required)
Microsoft certifications (MCSA or MCSE)
Red Hat certifications (RHCSA or RHCE)
Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government environments.
Experience working within secure enterprise infrastructures.
