Job Summary
The Center for Information Technology (CIT) at Oberlin College invites applications for a Systems Administrator to provide hands-on support across enterprise server and network infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager of Network Infrastructure, this full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position is responsible for advancing major technology institutional initiatives, including enterprise technology modernization, strengthened cybersecurity, and transformative digital experiences that support teaching, learning, research, and student success.

This role centers on technical excellence, reliability, organization, and collaboration in managing both enterprise systems and network infrastructure.
The successful candidate will bring:

Essential Job Functions Marginal Job Functions Required Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in enterprise systems and network administration.
Strong expertise in:
Active Directory, Windows Server, and enterprise application hosting
Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware)
Enterprise backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam)
Network infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, and secure connectivity
Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or similar automation tools.
Solid understanding of:
Server and network security best practices
Monitoring, logging, and performance optimization
Capacity planning and disaster recovery
Familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure and modern data center environments.
Demonstrated organizational strength, attention to detail, and documentation discipline.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team while managing priorities independently.
Knowledge of secure remote access technologies and IT security principles.
