Are you an experienced Databricks Data Engineer looking to build enterprise-scale data solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes? We are seeking two highly skilled Systems Analyst III professionals to design, develop, and optimize modern data platforms supporting large-scale analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex data engineering initiatives utilizing Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and modern Lakehouse architecture within a collaborative enterprise environment.
 
What You'll Do
As a Systems Analyst III, you will design and implement scalable data engineering solutions while partnering with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality analytics platforms.
 
Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data solutions using Databricks
• Build and maintain scalable ETL and ELT data pipelines utilizing Apache Spark
• Develop solutions using Python, PySpark, or Scala for large-scale data processing
• Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers)
• Develop and maintain Delta Lake and Lakehouse data solutions
• Build and manage Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (formerly Delta Live Tables)
• Create and schedule production workflows using Lakeflow Jobs or comparable orchestration tools
• Develop robust dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas
• Design Databricks SQL dashboards, Databricks Apps, and reporting solutions
• Implement data governance, security, quality, and validation frameworks
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
• Conduct system analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and solution evaluations
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, operational monitoring, and cost efficiency
• Present technical solutions and business insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle

 
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess:

• 8+ years of experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of enterprise technology solutions
• 8+ years of experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
• 8+ years building and optimizing ETL and ELT data pipelines
• 8+ years of experience with SQL and Python or Scala
• 8+ years of experience designing enterprise data warehouses and dimensional data models
• 8+ years developing Databricks SQL Dashboards and Databricks Apps
• 8+ years implementing data governance, security, and data quality practices
• 8+ years of experience with Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, and Lakehouse design
• 8+ years developing Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (Delta Live Tables)
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Lakeflow Jobs or Apache Airflow
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to independently analyze complex business requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within state government or public sector environments
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps practices for data engineering

 
Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Hybrid work environment combining onsite and remote work
• Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on project needs

 
Contract Details

• Contract dates: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027
• Approximately 2,008 hours
• Opportunity for contract extension based on project needs
• Overtime requires prior approval
