Systems Analyst - Intermediate

Position: Senior SQL Oracle Developer 

Location: Providence, RI (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Expected hours per week: 35-40 hours per week 

Pay: $40-43 per hour 

Description: We are looking for a Senior SQL Developer who has a passion for analyzing data, working with software and learning new technologies. The developer will be working directly with experience leads, and business resources to deliver quality solutions. You will be involved with designing, implementing and working in various systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and support complex Oracle database solutions and reporting initiatives.
• Develop advanced SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, DDL, and DML operations.
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database, application, and data-related issues.
• Create and maintain data models and ensure adherence to database design best practices.
• Support ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Implement data validation, quality assurance, and referential integrity standards.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Document system architecture, workflows, and technical specifications using UML methodologies.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum, Kanban, and XP practices.
• Support reporting and data visualization initiatives utilizing Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science
• Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience with Oracle databases, capable of writing complex SQL queries and developing complex PL/SQL objects, including DML and DDL.
• Strong experience with database and SQL performance tuning. 
• Proficient in data modelling and data visualization tools (Preferred Tableau/Power BI)  
• Working knowledge of ETL practices (Extract, Transform, and Load) (Preferred - Informatica, Pentaho) 
• Excellent understanding of database management systems (DBMS)
• Strong troubleshooting debugging skills with complex DML
• Expert level SQL querying and database manipulation with very large data sets
• Ability to debug and troubleshot logical and functional coding error
• Familiarity with code repositories
• Experience with continuous integration tools
• Knowledge of relational database designs, ISDM methodologies, database security (role-based), and query tools like TOAD, SQL Developer, or SQL Navigator.
• Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML) for documenting system architecture.
• Ability to solve complex problems creatively and anticipate issues with software designs or specifications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships, collaborate with team members, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
• Experience in XML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (such as JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, or React) for web development.

Preferred:

• 5 Years of Integrated Eligibility/Healthcare domain experience. Experience developing reports submitted to federal agencies. (SNAP/TANF/Medicaid) 
• Ability to design, develop, maintain, and support various database-driven reporting initiatives
• Strong Data Validation, Quality Assurance, and Referential Integrity skills
• Experience with Enterprise Workflow Management Tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
• Advanced understanding of Data Visualization Technologies such as Tableau
• Experience with Git and Jenkins
• Oracle Certification is a plus 
• Experience with environmental regulatory processes is beneficial.
