Intermediate Systems Analyst
Location: Providence, RI (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours
Duration: 12-Month Contract with Extension Potential
Pay Range: $47-$50/hr
Interview Process: Two rounds of interviews. Candidates must be willing to report onsite for the second interview. Remote candidates will not be considered.
Epitec is seeking an Intermediate Systems Analyst to support a large Health and Human Services technology environment in Rhode Island. This role will partner with business teams, program leads, state agencies, and vendors to support system analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, KPI reporting, incident management, and business process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience gathering and documenting requirements, performing data analysis, and supporting large-scale business applications.

Responsibilities
- Perform system analysis, data validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for application enhancements and production issues.
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and process requirements.
- Validate data scripts, notices, KPI metrics, and application changes.
- Create and execute SQL queries to support testing, validation, reporting, and quality assurance efforts.
- Coordinate with vendors, state agencies, technical teams, and business stakeholders to support system integrations and data exchanges.
- Conduct gap analysis, process mapping, and business workflow analysis.
- Monitor and track incident tickets, partnering with operations and support teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Support federal reporting initiatives through data gathering, documentation, and demonstrations.
- Participate in design sessions and help translate policy requirements into technical and business solutions.
- Prepare project documentation, test plans, job aids, and status reporting.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or related roles.
- Strong experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test case development, and validation activities.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and validate queries and data scripts.
- Experience gathering requirements and documenting business processes, use cases, and workflows.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and KPI validation.
- Ability to support incident management and operational issue resolution.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
- Experience with Tableau or similar reporting/visualization tools preferred.
- Experience working within Health and Human Services, social services, eligibility systems, or government environments strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
