Job Description

Job Summary

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role. You will be in various company systems every day, personally configuring, building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting. This is not a business analyst role. There is no supervisory responsibility, and there are no direct reports. If your recent experience consists mainly of gathering requirements and handing the build off to someone else, this role is probably not the right fit.

This is also not an entry-level position. We are looking for a seasoned practitioner who has done this work with their own hands, brings sound judgment earned over years of doing it, and is looking to put down roots and grow with us over the long term. You will analyze and optimize our technological systems and then build and implement the improvements yourself, working alongside the Director of Application and Service Delivery, who sets direction and priorities for the team. We expect you to bring a strongly AI-minded approach to the work, continually looking for practical ways to apply modern AI and automation tools to make our systems more effective. This role requires deep technical skill, strong analytical ability, and the ability to work effectively with peers and stakeholders across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with the Director of Application and Service Delivery, who owns team priorities and direction. Your perspective on sequencing, effort, and technical approach is valued and factors into those decisions.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical resource for the team, taking on the harder problems directly and working them through to resolution yourself.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Document the systems and solutions you build so that others on the team can operate and support them.

Hands-On Systems Analysis, Build & Support

  • Analyze existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement, then design and build the solution yourself, including AI-driven and automation-based approaches where they add value.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to gather and document business requirements, then translate them into technical specifications and into working, configured systems.
  • Personally implement and configure software solutions, databases, and integrations in line with established technical standards and best practices. This is the core, day-to-day work of the role.
  • Write test plans and perform the testing yourself to confirm the functionality, reliability, and usability of what you build. Identify defects and fix them.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation including system designs, technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Carry complex, cross-functional technical work from initiation through go-live, delivering your own commitments on scope and schedule and raising risks early.

Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide training and advanced support to end-users on implemented systems and processes. Take on escalated issues and troubleshoot them to root cause in a timely manner.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, platforms, and best practices in systems analysis and design, with particular attention to advances in AI and automation. Proactively identify and advocate for opportunities to apply these tools to process optimization and system enhancements.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • 5 - 7+ years of hands-on, in-the-system experience configuring, integrating, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise applications and infrastructure. Experience centered primarily on requirements gathering, process documentation, or project coordination is not a match for what this role needs day to day.
  • A mature, dependable professional who brings stability and follow-through, takes genuine ownership of outcomes, and is looking for a long-term home rather than a short-term stop.
  • Strongly AI-minded. You do not need to be an AI expert, but you should be genuinely curious about AI, comfortable using modern AI tools in your day-to-day work, and quick to spot practical opportunities to apply AI and automation to systems analysis and problem-solving.
  • Able to point to specific systems, integrations, and automations you built or configured yourself, and to explain how they work. Expect to walk through a few examples during the interview.
  • Strong practical troubleshooting skills across applications, data, hardware, and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to assess complex business needs, translate them into scalable solutions, and then deliver those solutions yourself.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with IT systems maintenance, administration, and security principles, together with a working understanding of enterprise architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to manage your own workload across multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Enjoys being the person who does the work, and motivated by depth and craft in a technical individual contributor role.

Position Type

  • On-Site
  • May be required to work outside standard hours to perform upgrades, fixes, and other project work.
