Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Systems Architect - Electrical Engineering in Austin TX to support an organization within the electrical interconnect manufacturing industry with up to 30% travel in the U.S. The Systems Architect - Electrical Engineering role is ideal for a senior-level engineering professional with extensive experience designing and leading complex interconnect solutions that align customer requirements with business and manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities of the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineering:

  • Own the end-to-end system architecture and technical roadmap for advanced electrical interconnect and cable backplane solutions.
  • Translate customer and business needs into system-level requirements with a focus on signal integrity, mechanical fit, thermal performance, and scalability.
  • Create and evaluate technical documentation including system specifications, engineering drawings, and prototype or proof-of-concept designs.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between OEM customers and manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment across design, production, and delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across cross-functional engineering, sales, and customer-facing teams.

Qualifications of the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineering:

  • Bachelor''s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering required; master''s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronic and/or mechanical engineering with a focus on interconnecting or electromechanical systems.
  • Understanding interconnect architectures and how they support both internal business objectives and customer system designs.
  • Experience with CAD and modeling tools such as Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) or SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Compensation for the Systems Architect - Electrical Engineering includes:

  • Salary range: $170,000 - $200,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement options
