Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Generates Software Components (PDIs), User Modifiable Software (UMS), and Field Loadable software in compliance with DO-178B and DO-178C standards.

• Reviews and approves suppliers’ software lifecycle data including software architecture, software design documents, and software requirement documents.

• Oversees verification and compliance preparation of comprehensive technical documentation required for certification.

• Monitors project progress and performance to ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet safety and certification milestones.

• Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.

• Leads development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics for software certification.

• Applies domain expertise in Interior Cabins, Seats, In-Flight Entertainment systems, or Onboard Network Systems.

• Applies Aviation Standards DO-178C and DO-254 for software and airborne electronic hardware certification.

• Participates in industry working groups to develop industry guidance and standards and authors internal design practice documentation.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent directly related to the work statement.

• 3+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management, and agile software engineering best practices.

• 3+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.

• 3+ years of experience leading software development projects.

• Experience using common software version control tools such as Git or equivalent.

• Experience with Agile planning tools such as JIRA, GITLAB, or similar.

• Domain expertise in Interior Cabins, Seats, In-Flight Entertainment systems, or Onboard Network Systems.

• Experience with Aviation Standards DO-178C and DO-254.

• Preferred: 5+ years of experience as or working with Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist, or EASA/FAA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
