Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Designs and develops next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems for space-based platforms.

• Develops and verifies multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms for digital payloads.

• Conducts performance analysis of signal processing models to validate system performance.

• Performs waveform development and characterization for satellite communication systems.

• Performs trade studies for system design and performance optimization.

• Supports integration and test of payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations.

• Supports HDL-level design and verification for FPGA or ASIC implementations.

• Performs detailed system design and verification activities for space-based communication systems.

• Applies DSP and digital communications algorithms including equalization, coding, decoding, channel estimation, filter design, and resampling theory.

• Uses Matlab and Simulink for algorithm development and performance analysis.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

• 5+ years of experience in core digital communications and signal processing theory.

• 3+ years of experience with Matlab or Simulink for algorithm development.

• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering including requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design, and trade design.

• 1+ years of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs.

• Experience in digital signal processing and digital communications algorithms including equalization, coding, decoding, channel estimation, filter design, and resampling theory.

• Preferred: Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscope, waveform generator, and spectrum analyzer.

• Preferred: Experience leading teams of engineers.

• Preferred: 9+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
