Baton Rouge, LA : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Systems Engineer .Essential DutiesDesign industrial and municipal control systems, including hardware and software components.Create and interpret engineering sketches and electrical drawings using AutoCAD.Engineer control systems utilizing electrical control principles and ladder logic.Coordinate with drafting personnel to prepare final electrical drawings or directly produce drawings in AutoCAD.Review system designs with technical and engineering personnel.Coordinate with shop personnel regarding assembly and wiring of control panels and drive systems.Perform or oversee electrical checkout and testing of control panels and drive system wiring.Participate in quality control and final acceptance testing prior to shipment, including client-witnessed testing.Assist clients during system installation, startup, and commissioning.Communicate effectively in written and verbal form with internal teams and customers.Requirements/SkillsAbility to read, write, and speak English fluently for effective communication and documentation.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Strong understanding of Windows-based computer systems.Working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to direct its effective use.Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness to learn additional business and project management software.Knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems and TCP/IP networking concepts.Understanding of industrial wired and wireless communication technologies and system design.Thorough knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including at least one major vendor platform, with the ability to design and program PLC-based systems.Ability to work independently after training and handle the majority of responsibilities without direct supervision.Physical RequirementsFull use of body and senses to service, repair, build, and operate equipment.Ability to lift more than 40 pounds.Excellent eyesight and depth perception required.Equal Opportunity StatementFlexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
