 Job Description:
We are building the next generation of force-multiplying aircraft, the MQ-28 Ghost Bat, and were looking for enthusiastic systems engineers to join us on that journey. As part of the MQ-28 team you’ll work closely with Boeing Defense Australia (BDA) and/or other Phantom Works entities and partners to help design, integrate, and field an autonomous loyal wingman that extends the reach, survivability, and capability of crewed aircraft. This program blends advanced autonomy, sensor fusion, resilient communications, and mission systems into a high-performance platform, offering a rare opportunity to apply and grow systems-engineering expertise on a program that will define the future of air combat and coalition operations.
Join a multidisciplinary team where you’ll shape system requirements, guide integration and verification activities, and influence architecture that must meet operational needs. If you want to solve hard problems, accelerate innovation in autonomy and teaming, and contribute to a program that matters, the MQ-28 team at Boeing Phantom Works is the place to make a measurable impact.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Lead Level Model-Based Systems Engineer.
Position Responsibilities:
• Support/lead system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to define interfaces, functions, and allocation across multiple domains
• Support/lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing systems to meet program commitments, including support of design reviews
• Support/lead the program in implementing MBSE as part of broad digital engineering ecosystem
• Support/lead Systems Engineering efforts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, system analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interfaces management, risk management, certification planning & execution, verification & test planning, and overall integration and capture them in the MBSE model as appropriate

• (Level 4) 7+ years of work-related engineering experience with a Bachelors or 3+ years of work-related engineering experience with a relevant Masters or PhD
• Prior Systems Engineering experience to include but not limited to system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation
• Experience with MBSE, Cameo/MSOSA, and/or SysML

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA)
• Prior leadership in system architecture or lead systems engineering roles; experience communicating architectural tradeoffs to stakeholders and customers
• Understanding of various engineering analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
• Familiarity with aircraft/flight systems and domain-specific engineering (ME, EE, SW) to evaluate integration impacts.
