General Description
Installs, maintains, administers, and supports IT systems, servers, appliances, and software. Provides Tier-1 and Tier-2 Service Desk support, escalating tickets to Tier-3 as needed. Works under minimal guidance and in accordance with the policies, processes, and specifications set by IT management. Adheres to professional standards in security, documentation and communication.
Uses internal and external resources to complete projects, implement new systems, and troubleshoot issues. Works with all departments to resolve issues and further the mission of IT. Attends staff meetings and contributes input on project work, open issues, and process improvement.
Performs patching and approved upgrades on a routine basis. Maintains and ensures a safe, secure, and well-organized server room environment including installing, upgrading, or removing hardware as needed.
Possesses a well-rounded technical knowledge of Windows Server and Ubuntu Linux operating systems. Possesses experience with cloud, virtualization, and AI technologies, system backups, storage management, endpoint protection, disaster recovery methods, and information security best practices.
Must be able to work independently, follow a set work schedule, and meet deadlines for service desk support and assigned project responsibilities. Must be able to adhere to specified standards and specifications, resolve open issues to completion, and respond to priority situations as they arise.

Primary Responsibilities (May serve in one or more of the following roles.)
Design and Implementation
  • Understands design specifications and makes recommendations to improve the design of systems configuration and implementations.
  • Installs new apps, servers, and other system components that meet the organization's needs.
  • Tests and documents new system or app implementations to CTPF IT Department standards prior to user acceptance testing,
Support
  • Performs root cause analysis and provides resolutions to service desk tickets in timely fashion.
  • Maintains responsibility as situations warrant for resolving escalated or delegated support calls and ensures they are completed properly.
  • Conscientiously reviews open tickets for resolution in a timely manner.
  • Assists with board meeting support.
  • Provides technical problem resolution assistance to other IT personnel, business units, or clients.
  • Documents solutions to technological issues in Jira Confluence, clearly detailing the source of the problem and steps to accurate resolution. Maintains other technical documentation in appropriate department locations.
  • Utilizes vendor or consultant assistance for trouble resolution, as necessary.
Maintenance
  • Identifies systems and devices requiring ongoing maintenance, which will include patching and upgrading following change control policies and guidelines.
  • Works during maintenance windows to ensure minimal business impact and client interruption.
  • Provides a secure and well-organized environment in the IT Storage, MDF, and IDF rooms by installing or removing hardware as needed for the proper functioning of computing and related IT equipment.
Position Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Certifications from Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, and LPI preferred.
  • 3 years' experience as a Network Administrator or Systems Engineer
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and moving up to forty pounds occasionally.
  • Sitting for long periods of time, some standing and repetitive physical activity
Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e., computers, phones and photocopiers).
