Systems Engineer
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX or Logan, UT (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract 1 year with possible extension
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced mechatronic and autonomous systems. This role will serve as the technical bridge between Product Management, System Architects, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Development teams to transform stakeholder needs into detailed system and subsystem requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong requirements engineering experience and a background supporting complex hardware/software integrated products throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and manage stakeholder requirements, goals, and KPIs.
Translate product objectives into detailed system and subsystem requirements.
Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system specifications.
Support requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Analyze impacts of requirement changes and design modifications.
Participate in system architecture, conceptual design, and design reviews.
Support safety and risk analysis activities including HARA, STPA, and FMEA methodologies.
Review and approve test plans and validation procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with requirements and design objectives.
Support proposal development and customer-facing technical discussions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
4+ years of experience in systems engineering and requirements management.
Experience supporting complex system or subsystem development.
Proficiency with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar platforms.
Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
Strong understanding of hardware/software integration and systems engineering principles.
Experience with safety analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or mechatronics.
INCOSE SEP or CPRE certification.
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
