Systems Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to support the planning, development, integration, testing, and implementation of complex railway and transportation systems. This role will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure system requirements are properly defined, managed, and validated throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and manage system requirements and specifications.
- Support system architecture development and interface definition.
- Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, field personnel, clients, and stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Support systems integration activities, including interface management and issue resolution.
- Participate in verification and validation planning and execution.
- Assist with test procedure development, testing activities, and acceptance documentation.
- Perform technical reviews of designs, drawings, specifications, and project deliverables.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support project planning, scheduling, reporting, and change management activities.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of systems engineering experience in transportation, infrastructure, industrial, telecommunications, defense, or other complex engineering environments.
- Knowledge of requirements management, systems integration, verification, and validation methodologies.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience with requirements management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel as project needs require.
