About the Opportunity

Vector Talent Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Systems Engineer.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their growing technical team in the Gastonia area. This is a client-facing role supporting multiple business environments, providing exposure to a wide range of technologies and infrastructure projects. Each day offers new challenges and opportunities to solve complex technical issues while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in supporting customers, and can effectively manage multiple priorities. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a desire to continuously learn and grow within the Managed Services industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across multiple client environments
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems
• Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and TCP/IP networking
• Assist with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 migrations
• Support virtualization platforms including Hyper-V and VMware
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure issues
• Document client environments, configurations, and technical procedures
• Work directly with clients to resolve technical issues while delivering exceptional customer service
• Manage multiple priorities across support requests and project work
• Recommend technology improvements and infrastructure upgrades when appropriate

Qualifications

• Approximately 6+ years of IT infrastructure or systems support experience• Experience supporting Windows Server and Windows desktop environments
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and TCP/IP
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Strong documentation skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve
• Stable work history demonstrating reliability and dependability

• Microsoft 365 migration experience
• Microsoft Exchange experience
• Hyper-V experience
• VMware experience
• Cisco Meraki experience
• Cisco ASA firewall experience
• Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions
• ConnectWise experience
• Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications
