Systems Engineer II – Systems Integration & Interoperability

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Duration: 9 months (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer II supports the design, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise health information technology solutions. This role involves working closely with technical teams, clinical stakeholders, and vendors to ensure system readiness and operational success.

  • Support design and integration of enterprise Health IT and EHR capabilities.
  • Translate clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications.
  • Implement scalable, cloud-based solutions in a federal healthcare environment.
  • Support healthcare interoperability and interface management efforts.
  • Assist with secure migration and support of clinical data in cloud-based repositories.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and readiness activities.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for deployment support and issue resolution.
  • Identify and track technical risks and issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in IT, systems engineering, or Health IT programs.
  • Experience with systems integration, interfaces, and EHR environments.
  • Experience documenting technical requirements and system processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare IT environments.
  • Familiarity with federal healthcare operations or large-scale public sector IT programs.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and secure data environments.
  • Familiarity with EHR sustainment and healthcare data standardization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and interoperability concepts.
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements and identify integration constraints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
