The Systems Engineer III - AWS's primary role is to support new and updated software and infrastructure changes for new and existing business initiatives that also increase operational performance and developer agility. We are DevOps thought leaders in automation and infrastructure. We automate tasks, implement monitoring, restore environment health and deal with infrastructural components within large-scale systems we build. We are the glue that keeps Pre-Production services up and running for our customers. In addition to the general duties of a Systems Engineer III described below, the Systems Engineer III - AWS will have responsibilities specific to the AWS environment: Daily tasks include a wide range of activities, including monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, deploying microservices, migrating applications, and working on new systems and technologies. Building cloud technology expertise by deepening their knowledge and skills by working in areas like security, networking, and AWS services. Review and deploy cloud infrastructure that supports new and enhanced business applications and services, ensuring reliability and performance Closely work with and collaborate with development, testing, operations, and other teams to understand their needs and implement cloud solutions that meet their requirements. Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the lab tenant experience. Interfaces with other teams to collect and define project requirements and MOP reviews for automating and deploying microservice applications or technology stacks. Code and perform continuous automation testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements. Write programs according to specifications, and define specifications for complex programs and monitoring solutions. Monitor and repair critical systems on an as needed basis. Generate reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques. Develop and maintain technical documentation. Serve as final escalation point to resolve incidents and problems for applications and microservices supported by the team in accordance with identified Service Level Agreements. Provide system users and management with system analysis and improvement recommendations. Identify and recommend system design/requirements needs for software enhancements. Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes and/or standards. Coordinate with technical teams to analyze and resolve software related problems causing operational difficulties, advising on specialized features and functions. Maximize the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs. Follow established configuration/change control processes. Collaborate with customers and internal/external technical teams to identify software problems and communicate remediation plans. Mentor and coach junior team members. In addition to the general requirements described below, there are knowledge, skills and ability requirements specific to the Systems Engineer III - AWS role: *Containerization: Strong experience with technologi s like Docker and Kubernetes. AWS Services: Experience with common AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, and CloudFormation. *2+ years hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL, Ansible, Chef, or similar technologies. Automation: Experience with automation tools and frameworks and scripting (Python, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Bash, Perl) Database Administration: Experience with databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch. Strong experience working with DevOps engineers to build and deploy infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies and local data center solutions. Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD (Git, Gitlab, Jenkins, Argo, Helm), runners and webhooks. Networking and Security: Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in the cloud. * Strong Understanding of Agile development methodologies. * Experience with APIs and services using prevailing design models (REST, SOAP). * Experience with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, DataDog and Grafana. * Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, Ruby, JavaScript). * Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Puppet, BASH, Perl). * Experience with infrastructure automation technologies (Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker). * Experience with CI/CD (Git, Gitlab, Jenkins, Argo, Helm), runners and webhooks. * Experience with software security principles and patterns. * Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence. * Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks. * Must be capable of delivering on multiple...
