About SynthBee

SynthBee is building Collaborative Intelligence — technology that maximizes the potential of people and computers working together. The mission is to help humans solve the most important scientific, engineering, design, and creative challenges of our time, and to create joy in the process.

The company operates in mission-critical, regulated sectors where the stakes are real and the engineering complexity is high. ML technologies are central to how SynthBee delivers on that mission, and the systems engineering function plays a direct role in shaping how those technologies are applied and integrated.

The Opportunity

SynthBee is looking for a Systems Engineer to advise technical leadership on the application of ML technologies across complex, regulated problem spaces. You will lead architecture definition, collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, and serve as the bridge between internal engineering teams and key stakeholders.

This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical systems design and analysis, combined with the adaptability to engage with emerging ML and software technologies. If you can hold a wide range of engineering concepts in mind simultaneously, navigate ambiguity, and communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

  • •      Lead architecture definition and design of complex systems, including capturing, verifying, and validating requirements
  • •      Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define system requirements and specifications
  • •      Provide design engineering expertise and technical support across a range of projects
  • •      Apply engineering principles, methodologies, and tools to solve problems in complex regulated sectors
  • •      Act as a liaison between internal teams and stakeholders, managing communications and expectations around system performance
  • •      Deconstruct complex processes into executable statements of work for multi-discipline teams to carry out

You Should Have

  • •      Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • •      2-5 years of experience in design or stress analysis
  • •      Experience creating or analyzing part and assembly designs using 3D CAD tools such as CATIA or SolidWorks, and/or analysis tools such as NASTRAN or Abaqus
  • •      Proficiency interfacing with adjacent functions including design, loads, thermal, materials, test, and manufacturing
  • •      Experience with design and analysis of mechanical structures, including generating free-body diagrams, hand calculations, and initial design recommendations
  • •      Strong understanding of structural load paths and structural behavior
  • •      Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • •      Adaptability to learn and implement emerging ML and systems technologies quickly
  • •      Foundational understanding of software engineering

Nice to Have

  • •      Experience in aerospace or other regulated sectors with strict systems engineering requirements
  • •      Familiarity with ML technologies and their application to engineering workflows
