Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure and systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role will support servers, networks, and cloud environments while troubleshooting complex technical issues and driving continuous system improvements. In addition, this position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business needs and support ongoing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Explain complex IT concepts and software development tools to users and apply that knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Manage the migration of physical servers to virtual environments using Hyper-V platforms.
• Configure, install, and manage NetBackup server tools to ensure data protection.
•  Provision and de-provision user access to development tools and project resources.
•  Create CRQs (Change Request Queues) in Remedy ticketing system to document and track errors, issues, and failures.
• Facilitate meetings with internal and client teams to discuss server and application upgrade requirements.
• Create CRQs for Network, Unix, or other support teams when issues require their expertise.
• Manage binaries for IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) and associated components used by developers, including RAD and RSA tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM development tools and IBM Installation Manager.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues for development environments like RAD and RSA.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting servers, workstations, and related software applications.
• Ability to occasionally provide support outside of regular business hours (24/7 and after hours).
• Experience migrating physical servers to virtual environments using Hyper-V platforms.
• Proven ability to configure, install, and manage NetBackup server tools.
• Experience with user provisioning and de-provisioning for software development tools.
