D&G is seeking a Systems Engineer - Modeling to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office. The CWMD Office leads the Department's efforts to safeguard the United States against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN), and health security threats by coordinating with domestic and international partners.

This role offers outstanding growth opportunities for early and mid-career professionals. You will work alongside experienced Systems Engineers and Architects who will provide mentorship and technical guidance while supporting meaningful national security initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain system models using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Perform capability analysis for systems and architectures and represent those systems through visual models and written documentation.
• Support capability assessment studies, gap analyses, and risk assessments.
• Assist with annual technical program reviews and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
• Participate in program management working sessions and support day-to-day systems engineering activities.
• Develop architecture products using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Interpret government policies, regulations, and directives and apply them to systems engineering activities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, program managers, and government stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.

What We Are Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree.
• 1-8 years of systems engineering or systems architecture experience.
• 2-5 years of experience working across multiple systems engineering sub-domains.
• 1-8 years of experience developing system models and producing multiple architectural viewpoints.
• 1-5 years of experience using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• 1-8 years of experience working with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• 1-8 years of experience reading and interpreting government policies, regulations, and directives and applying those interpretations appropriately.

Preferred

• Experience supporting multiple projects while applying systems engineering and business process improvement principles.
• Experience with initiative management, business process development, business process reengineering, or strategic business initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience assessing Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) detection systems, threats, or related policies.
• Experience supporting the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), or other DHS organizations.

Clearance and Eligibility

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
• This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Location

Hybrid. Currently requires one day per week onsite at the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office located on the St. Elizabeths Campus in Washington, DC. This requirement may change to full-time onsite based on government needs.
