Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Systems Engineer - Propulsion Integration to be based at our office, Warwick.

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Scope of Role :

As Systems Engineer for Propulsion Systems, you will deliver technical activities to co-ordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of propulsion system requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The role will apply systems engineering principles to define, integrate and validate complex propulsion solutions while managing technical interfaces across multiple vehicle domains. You will guide cross-domain collaboration and facilitate the building and commissioning of validation vehicles and rigs. Acting as a key technical influencer, you will support strategic decision-making, resolve complex technical issues and ensure alignment between customer requirements, system architecture and programme objectives.

Area of Responsibility

  • Support planning and tracking of Propulsion System development from concept through to launch.
  • Co-ordinate cross-domain activities to ensure alignment to System Requirements.
  • Provide inputs to propulsion simulation activities to optimise hardware, software and calibration to achieve project attribute targets.
  • Support the Technical Commodity teams to deliver sub-systems which enable the propulsion system to meet targets aligned to project milestones.
  • Liaise between commodity, prototype build and commissioning teams to deliver appropriate development vehicles.
  • Ensure delivery within agreed budget, timing, and quality targets.
  • Maintain live documentation using tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
  • Provide regular status updates and report progress, risks, and mitigation plans to the Phoenix Technical Review and stakeholders as required.
  • Support D&R activities to agreed schedule, ensuring backlog management supports project timing.
  • Maintain project documentation, including costed BOMs and engineering change requests.
  • Foster a positive environment, provide support and encouragement to maintain high morale and identify value within the PTSE Technical Commodity team.
  • Systems Engineering:
  • Undertake tasks to deliver Propulsion Systems Requirements
  • Facilitate risks and opportunity cost conversations with all stakeholders.
  • Programme Delivery:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including programme teams, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and development teams.
  • Track programme timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time component delivery.
  • Support gateway material preparation and issue resolution.

Knowledge / Experience

Essential:

  • Strong experience in Propulsion System engineering
  • Project management.
  • Relevant Propulsion domain experience.
  • Ownership mindset, problem solving, customer focus.
  • Tools - AGILE JIRA, 3Dx, SAP, MS tools

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
