Systems Engineer - Medical Devices

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer (Level 3) to join our dynamic and innovative team developing industry-leading medical endoscopes.

In this role, you will be responsible for product design at the system level, working with product management, project management, and development to design a product that meets customer and regulatory requirements. This position requires high quality and durability standards, as the products are used in the medical industry.

Your main job functions will include the following:

• Deriving and maintaining ownership of top-level system requirements
• Developing and maintaining ownership of system architecture documentation
• Making sure all design specifications are articulated in enough detail to design a system that meets all defined and approved product requirements
• Performing the necessary tradeoffs of various design approaches and selecting an optimal approach
• Developing system design specifications, including sub-systems and system variations
• Making sure all components are working seamlessly together as one system

Key Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Computer Engineering, etc.
• 4+ years of professional experience
• Ability to perform system tradeoff studies
• Solid understanding of software design methodology and deliverables
• Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards
• Experience with video systems
• Knowledgeable of image processing techniques
• Broad understanding of analog and digital hardware design

We work a Monday to Thursday-schedule, meaning a long weekend in sunny Santa Barbara every week. Relocation assistance can be provided if moving from outside of the region.
