Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Shrewsbury, MA. Primary Functions: The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the Company's IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and end-user environment. This role provides advanced technical expertise across servers, storage, virtualization, databases, M365 administration, telephony, and desktop technologies. Acting as both a hands-on engineer and a technical leader, the Senior Systems Engineer ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of systems that support business operations while also providing escalated support for complex end-user issues. Responsibilities: Systems Architecture & Design:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise systems including servers, storage, virtualization, cloud services, and databases
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with organizational goals
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve performance, reliability, and security
Infrastructure Operations & Support:
  • Manage Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, group policies, and identity management
  • Administer Virtual environment (VMware, Azure)
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune)
  • Provide escalated support for end-user devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices), applications, printers, and peripherals
  • Oversee Unified Communications and Call Center systems (IVR/VoIP/PBX) and ensure integration with collaboration tools
  • Monitor and support network services (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Database & Application Management:
  • Create, modify, and de-provision user accounts across Active Directory, M365, and enterprise applications
  • Maintain role-based access controls, ensuring security and compliance
  • Conduct periodic access reviews and audits

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in the areas of network administration and vendor relations
Systems:
  • Experience: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, Windows Server, Active Directory & Group Policy, VMware vSphere/ESXi

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
