CIS integrates technical roadmaps, delivery planning, capability incentives, anomaly resolution, release management, and decision intelligence through one operating model using authoritative data and explicit decision rights.

As a Level 3 Senior Systems Engineer, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor while owning and leading one assigned CIS function. You are accountable for its work products, operating rhythm, stakeholder coordination, and technical decisions. You will resolve issues within the function, represent evidence, status, and risk to program and CIS leadership, direct function work within portfolio standards, and escalate decisions with broader portfolio impact.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and maintain the integrated technical baseline within the assigned function, including scope, schedule, capability content, and accomplishment criteria.
• Manage cross-program dependencies, owners, need dates, and verified status; lead integration and verification planning backward from culminating events.
• Govern the common deficiency taxonomy; lead impact assessment, prioritization, and resolution tracking across technical domains.
• Develop and validate release-readiness evidence, including verification status, deficiency disposition, limitations, and watch items; present the technical basis to release authorities.
• Validate and reconcile authoritative portfolio data; produce traceable health assessments, leading indicators, and dashboards integrating capability, cost, schedule, risk, and readiness.
• Lead analysis for technical interchange, roadmap, anomaly, release-readiness, and program management reviews; recommend actions using common data.

What You Will Be Doing

Each position focuses on one of four technical tracks based on expertise and team needs. Depth in one track is required; experience across multiple tracks is valued.

Track A - Capability Architecture & Integration Planning (TRM, FIP, CIM)

Translate mission capabilities into executable architectures through functional decomposition, technical roadmaps, interface definition, dependency mapping, and integration planning. Apply MBSE methods such as DoDAF, UAF, or SysML to connect operational needs, requirements, system functions, design decisions, and verification evidence.

Track B - Technical Integrity & Release Readiness (ARM, CRM)

Turn technical requirements into verified, integrated, and releasable capability. Apply requirements analysis, interface management, verification/validation planning, integration sequencing, technical performance assessment, and anomaly resolution. Establish objective evidence and readiness criteria for sound and repeatable release decisions.

Track C - Data Engineering & Architecture (IDM)

Build and operate data pipelines and common data models across heterogeneous sources. Apply SQL and a general-purpose language, preferably Python, for ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and orchestration. Apply data quality, schema, lineage, and access controls to investigate incorrect values at their source.

Track D - Data Analysis & Decision Metrics (IDM)

Turn integrated data into decision intelligence through precise metric definitions, calculation logic, health assessments, leading indicators, trend analysis, and decision-focused dashboards. Apply SQL and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python. Define metrics so independent analysts produce consistent results.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated technical depth in at least one technical track, supported by evidence of owning and delivering complex work products or a defined technical function.
• Ability to interpret and apply standards, resolve exceptions within assigned authority, and improve work products as conditions change.
• Experience leading work across team or organizational boundaries, coordinating stakeholders, and resolving dependencies without direct authority.
• Ability to manage ambiguous work, establish an execution approach, maintain decision-quality evidence, and resolve issues within assigned authority.
• An active Secret clearance is required at the start of employment. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and any additional program access required for the role.

Desired Skills

• Experience delivering complex work products or leading a defined function in aerospace, defense, or another regulated, safety-critical development environment.
• Experience operating in agile or hybrid development environments that integrate rapid software release cadences with hardware milestones and formal readiness events.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to defend technical analysis, communicate risk, and recommend decisions to program and engineering leaders.
• Proficiency with tools relevant to the selected technical track and assigned CIS function, with working knowledge of adjacent engineering, data, planning, or lifecycle toolsets. Relevant tools may include: DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, Jira, Spira, Xcelerator, Confluence, Git, GitLab, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Milestones Professional, Open Plan, Deltek Cobra.
• Experience integrating configuration-controlled technical data and traceable evidence to support reviews, readiness assessments, and repeatable decisions.
• Experience coordinating with customers, test organizations, release authorities, or mission stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver an approved technical outcome.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
