Job Title: System Engineer VLocation: Onsite in WA- RedmondDuration: 6 months - Potential extensionAs a Systems Engineer for Calibration, you will work with camera and display calibration equipment, test and characterize it, as well as define the calibration procedure. You will write software to facilitate calibration and testing workflows, as well as process relevant data. You will work closely with teams developing novel sensors, silicon, and integrated products to guarantee successful calibration and establish clear interfaces and quality gates. You will troubleshoot system-wide calibration issues spanning mechanical, electrical, optical and software failures. You will partner with manufacturing teams to deploy calibration functionality at scale in a factory setting.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of software for data collection and processing of calibration data.Setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining data collection SW and HW including OS/firmware updates and connection to sensor components.Collaboration with other functions (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, computer vision, firmware, etc) for hardware bringup and verification.Calibration and data capture system design and failure analysis.Design and execution of experiments to validate product quality and investigate HW/SW integration issues.Perform device calibration with proprietary equipment.Qualifications (Must have)BSc/MSc/PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related experienceStrong track record of software development following software engineering best practices (C++ or Python)Experience working in research or product development involving joint hardware/software design, development, and integrationExperience in system level troubleshooting: mechanical, electrical, optical, firmware, OS, software failuresQualifications (Nice to have)Experience in designing and operating robotic systemsKnowledge of optics including imaging, illumination, radiometry and photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarizationExperience in statistical methods for data analyticsHardware Engineering experience or educational background (one of Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Systems, Optical)Conversational in Chinese (Mandarin) for collaborating with Asia-based manufacturing teamsSuggestions for sourcingRobotics experienceComputer vision adjacent past experienceCoding experience is a MUST.Relevant companies: self-driving cars, drones, AR/VR, phone cameras, radars, hardware with integrated sensors.
