Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Join our dynamic IT team as a Systems Engineer and play a pivotal role in managing, scaling, and securing our hybrid IT infrastructure across multiple U.S. locations. This mid-level position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a key technical resource and project leader, overseeing everything from day-to-day operations to major hyperconverged and cloud initiatives. You'll be at the forefront of our technology evolution, ensuring our infrastructure supports business growth while maintaining the highest standards of security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure cloud services and M365 environments to ensure maximum performance and reliability
  • Manage on-premises Windows server environments, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance
  • Lead infrastructure projects from conception through implementation, coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Design and implement scalable solutions for hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive maintenance strategies
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures across all platforms
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and end users

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in systems administration and infrastructure management
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Solid experience with Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-303/304, or similar)
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure solutions
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and change management processes
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as System Center Operations Manager or Azure Monitor
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks and security best practices
  • Project management experience or PMP certification
