Job Description: TPV-Mule Systems Integration Engineer

  • Lead the electrical and functional "bring-up" of prototype Mule vehicles by integrating new hardware, software, and surrogate components to ensure breadboard, yellow board and vehicle functionality for validation testing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Integrate new hardware and software components (EDS/Wiring, Modules, MUX signals, and Translator Boxes) into prototype vehicles to enable full system functionality.
  • Perform end-to-end system bring-up activities including power-up sequencing, signal validation, and functional verification.
  • Electrical & Schematic Expertise
  • Develop, obtain, and markup electrical schematics and wire harness drawings to support integration of hardware onto TPV-Mule vehicles.
  • Interpret complex electrical schematics and harness diagrams to support system integration, issue resolution, and design validation.
  • Analyze complete vehicle wiring architectures, including harness routing, signal paths, power distribution, grounding, and interface points.
  • Technical Analysis & Validation
  • Collect and review Device Transmittals (DTs) from design engineers to ensure component compatibility and integration readiness.
  • Conduct system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and communication issues during prototype builds.
  • Surrogate & Compatibility Management
  • Select appropriate TPV-Mule surrogate components when production parts are unavailable.
  • Perform gap analysis and compatibility reviews between surrogate/bridging parts and Production Intent (PI) schematics and designs.
  • Network Communication & Diagnostics
  • Utilize CANalyzer (and/or CANoe) for system-level communication analysis, including CAN bus monitoring, message decoding, signal validation, and ECU interaction.
  • Debug network-level issues across vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Validate ECU communication and ensure proper integration within the overall vehicle network architecture.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years (Junior), 2-5 Years (Intermediate), 5+ Years (Senior) of experience in automotive systems integration, electrical distribution systems (EDS), or prototype vehicle validation.
  • Strong Electrical Engineering background with proven ability to read, interpret, and author electrical schematics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of complete vehicle wiring systems, including signal flow, power distribution, and grounding strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with CANalyzer for system-level communication analysis and debugging.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Available to work overtime on Weekends for first 3 months.
