The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for missile platforms. Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineers own the full development lifecycle, from concept generation to integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex, contested environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate avionics and mission systems into air vehicles effectively. Develop and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for secondary structures and system components, including large assembly model management.
Conduct simulations and analyses, including hand calculations and FEA (finite element analysis), to validate designs against performance requirements and regulatory standards. Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
Lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, and define and execute hardware test plans. Support critical hardware demonstrations for customers as required. Travel to test sites or vendor facilities as needed to support development and integration efforts.
