Job Title: Principal Systems Integration Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Systems Integration Engineer to lead the integration of a complex U.S. Navy weapon system program. This role involves orchestrating interface integration, ensuring interoperability, and tracking the maturity of multiple subsystems. The ideal candidate will possess strong systems engineering fundamentals and have extensive experience in system integration, capable of coordinating across primes and subcontractors to ensure end-to-end system compatibility and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level integration strategy across a complex system-of-systems architecture.
• Define, manage, and track interfaces between subsystems.
• Monitor interface maturity, integration readiness, and risk across components.
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability across hardware, software, and models.
• Perform integration planning, sequencing, and analysis.
• Coordinate integration activities across multiple engineering teams and contractors.
• Support technical reviews and integration status reporting to leadership and customers.
• Develop and present integration plans, analysis, and technical artifacts.

Essential Skills

• 6+ years of systems engineering experience on DoD programs.
• Proven experience with system integration at the system-of-systems level.
• Experience managing interfaces, interoperability, and subsystem interactions.
• Expereince in complex weapon systems or highly integrated platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple teams and contractors.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with U.S. Navy systems (Trident/SSP).
• Prior work on integration of large-scale defense platforms (F-35, missile systems, naval systems, etc.).
• Experience with integration planning and readiness tracking frameworks.
• INCOSE CSEP/ASEP certification.
• Active or prior security clearance.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid schedule with three days onsite, with mandatory in-office days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rockville, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
