Min Compensation: USD $106,254.00/Yr. Max Compensation: USD $146,557.00/Yr. Overview:

The Systems Manager has a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of Cordish Gaming’s infrastructure systems.  The role is responsible for managing a team and vendors who are accountable for ensuring maximum uptime and delivery of new datacenter services for the entire Cordish Gaming enterprise. You will be involved in new initiatives and lead projects, including large enterprise solutions across multiple locations. 

 

Daily activities and duties include managing a team that is responsible for implementation of new systems and maintenance of existing systems.  You will also be accountable for documentation of system standards, designs, configurations, and policies.  As Systems Manager you will also advocate company standards and participate in a peer review process to ensure all proposed changes are implemented following company security policies.

 

The Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining a systems team that will be the highest level of support for troubleshooting incidents in a 24x7x365 environment.  They will also be accountable for providing problem resolutions in an incident tracking system. This person will help train and mentor other members of the team. They may also participate in, and sometimes lead, projects with significant impact where close coordination and communication is required with other areas such as database management, system services, and application development organizations. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years’ of experience in an IT discipline as well as 2 or more years managing a team. 

Responsibilities:

1. Disaster Recovery Management:
   • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery plans for all computer systems.
   • Coordinate regular drills and tests to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures.
2. Documentation:
   • Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
3. Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
   • Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify and address system issues.
   • Optimize computer systems performance, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resource utilization.
4. Financial Management:
   • Manage accounting processes related to infrastructure systems, including purchasing, order tracking, support renewals, and subscription processing.
   • Collaborate with finance teams to track budget allocations and cost optimization.
5. Vendor Management:
   • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
   • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of services and products.
6. Project Management:
   • Track all systems-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure enhancements.
   • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
   • Lead and mentor the systems team, providing guidance and support.
   • Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate professional development.
8. 24x7 Coverage:
   • Ensure 24x7 personnel coverage for systems, including off-hour support.
9. Collaboration with Infrastructure Director:
   • Work closely with the Infrastructure Director to set team goals and align strategies with overall organizational objectives.
10. Systems Design Standards and Processes:
    • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Director to create and execute systems design standards.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices in systems architecture and security.
11. Service Excellence:
    • Deliver business core service standards by maintaining high network availability and reliability.
    • Address service disruptions promptly and effectively.
12. Team Building and Leadership:
    • Foster a positive team culture, promote collaboration, and encourage knowledge sharing.
    • Represent leadership goals and values within the systems team.
13. Community Engagement:
    • Participate in local community events and initiatives.
    • Enhance the organization’s reputation through community involvement.
14. Interdepartmental Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison between the Infrastructure Systems Team and other departments.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across functional areas.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements

1. Ten years’ of experience in an IT systems discipline with 2 years’ management experience.
2. Preferred Computer/Information Science, Security or Technical Degree.
3. Technical Certifications relating to IT Infrastructure Systems are a plus.
4. Technical experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree or certification.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to sit for long periods of time and ability to perform moderate lifting of 30 lbs. or more. 
2. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift and reach.
3. Ability to work long and varied hours and on shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. 
4. Ability to travel to all property locations and be onsite when needed.
5. Must be able to read, speak and effectively communicate ideas in English. 
6. Must be able to think analytically, have basic math skills and be able to read and interpret spreadsheets. 
7. Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations.
   
   

Working Conditions

1. The position is primarily remote but does require travel and onsite visits as necessary (around 25%).
2. 24/7 high energy casino environments with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees.
3. Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
4. You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
5. New build construction areas/sites where PPE will be required.
