We’re looking for a Systems Programmer (Mainframe/Db2) for a remote role.
Work Authorization: U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only. Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship
- 5-10 years of systems programming experience
- Experience with Mainframe System technologies, including Db2, z/OS, SYSVIEW, Broadcom products or other IBM mainframe related products
- Comprehension of advanced data storage techniques, basic database philosophy, database management, and advanced programming techniques
- Understand the requirements for maintaining production systems and the effect of systems changes
- Solid understanding of currently utilized programming productivity tools and their use
- Solid understanding of quality assurance and implementation strategies of systems software
- Able to acquire knowledge of programming languages and tools used in the department
- Able to analyze software specifications for completeness and compatibility with operating systems
- Experience how systems operate in mid-to-large enterprise environments
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, maintenance, and optimization of IBM Db2 for z/OS on the mainframe platform
- Support critical business applications and enterprise database environments
- Provide Db2 subsystem administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and migrations
- Perform disaster recovery support, incident resolution, and data movement across environments
- Ensure the stability, availability, and efficiency of mission-critical systems
- Provide 24x7 production support through an on-call rotation
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job-related field, or 4 years of job-related work experience; OR
- 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree
The hourly rate for this position is $42.14.
