Job Description Position Title: Systems Software Programmer Consultant Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid 20% on-site, 80% remote) Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension) Interview Process: 1 Round, Virtual/Online Why is this position open? Due to increased workload and the adoption of new technologies, the agency is seeking a highly experienced developer to enhance its intranet and improve business efficiencies through integrations with Microsofts Power Platform. Scope of the Project Provide expert-level SharePoint and Power Platform development services to modernize, automate, and optimize the agencys SharePoint environment. This includes integration with Microsoft 365 services, developing custom solutions, ensuring compliance with security standards, and enabling long-term system scalability. Daily Duties & Responsibilities Lead maintenance and enhancements of the agencys intranet, including requirements gathering, systems design, UI/UX design, planning, and development. Provision and manage SharePoint sites, web parts, workflows, and branding. Leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Power Suite, Teams, SharePoint) to improve collaboration. Design and implement PowerApps and Power Automate flows to streamline business processes. Ensure solutions are user-friendly and optimized for both desktop and mobile access. Develop technical documentation for support staff and end-users. Partner with system administrators to ensure security and compliance with CJIS, state, and industry standards. Prepare and deliver user documentation, workshops, and technical knowledge-transfer sessions. Guide teams on SharePoint and Power Platform governance best practices. Support DevOps-based environment management (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod) with controlled releases. Provide weekly status reports to management. Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance) 10+ years of SharePoint development experience. Proficiency in SharePoint Online and Office 365 features and capabilities. Experience designing and developing intranets using SharePoint 365. Expertise in customizing SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, workflows, and web parts. Strong Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, PowerApps) expertise. Strong programming skills in C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PowerShell. Understanding of information architecture principles. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards for SharePoint Online. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proven problem-solving ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve root causes. Experience delivering personalized intranet experiences (dashboards, targeted content, custom notifications). Strong UI/UX knowledge and skills. Effective interpersonal, proactive, and self-motivated approach. Preferred Skills Microsoft Copilot integrations. M365 adoption strategy and roadmap development. Gamification knowledge to improve user engagement and collaboration. Education Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
