Systems Technician

Job Location: Modesto, California

Job Type: Temporary (6 months)

Pay Rate: $30-$33/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm

Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a Systems Technician? Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Systems Technician to support the management and maintenance of network operating systems, LAN/WAN infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and related computing platforms. This temporary assignment is expected to last approximately six months. In this role, you will assist with the planning, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems and application software within a client/server and web-based environment. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, customer service-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative IT environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the development and implementation of network-related projects
  • Work with third-party vendors for applications, support, and technical services
  • Implement standards and procedures related to network and operating systems software
  • Utilize current and emerging network, communications, and operating system technologies
  • Monitor system performance and identify operational issues
  • Install, evaluate, maintain, and support client/server operating systems and application software
  • Collaborate with management, internal customers, and IT teams to provide technical solutions
  • Assist in resolving technical issues related to systems and operating environments
  • Establish operational procedures for system and software usage
  • Perform hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot systems errors and apply software fixes and updates
  • Maintain positive working relationships and provide strong customer service support
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Description of Company:
You will be supporting a government agency in a city in San Joaquin County.

Experience Required:
  • Knowledge of network operating systems, LAN/WAN technologies, telecommunications, GIS, or web systems
  • Familiarity with emerging network and communication technologies
  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, Ethernet, routers, hubs, and switches
  • Experience with network operating systems such as Microsoft NT and/or Novell NetWare
  • Basic knowledge of remote access and email systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software
  • Ability to analyze, maintain, and support network systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
