  • Plan, assign, and oversee daily work activities of I&C technicians and other assigned personnel, ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead electrical and electronic troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and construction activities for plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, including work on voltages more than 600 volts.

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communication systems, data processing equipment, computerized control equipment, control panels, relays, instrumentation wiring, and associated piping.

  • Maintain and provide technical oversight for solid-state devices, computers, PLCs, telemetering equipment, protection relays, switchboard instruments, and control systems.

  • Interpret and apply construction prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and instruction manuals; ensure drawings and documentation are kept accurate and up to date.

  • Monitor equipment performance, direct diagnostic efforts, and ensure accurate collection, interpretation, logging, and retention of operational and environmental data.

  • Coordinate and oversee contractor work to ensure proper installation, testing, and operation of equipment.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational goals and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure completion, accuracy, and timely submittal of required State and Federal environmental reports, maintaining records in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Ensure all work complies with environmental, regulatory, and company policies, standards, and permits.

  • Promote and enforce safe work practices by observing safety rules, correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors, and modeling the Alliant Energy "Live Safety. Everyone. Always." philosophy.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, maintenance practices, plant reliability, and equipment performance.

  • Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanup, and equipment preservation activities are completed throughout the plant and shop areas.

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communication, instrumentation, and computerized control systems, including PLCs, relays, switchboards, control panels, and associated wiring and devices.

  • May be required to support work at other Alliant Energy combined cycle facilities as operational needs dictate.

  • Perform other duties that are similar, related, or incidental to the position.
