T&D Superintendent

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Location: Dartmouth, MA

Our client is seeking an experienced Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent to oversee field construction operations on complex utility infrastructure projects throughout the greater Boston region. This individual will play a critical leadership role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong field leadership experience supporting transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects, along with a proactive safety mindset and the ability to effectively coordinate subcontractors, field crews, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field construction operations for assigned T&D projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, craft supervision, and field personnel.
  • Oversee construction activities related to:
    • High voltage transmission lines
    • Transmission line steel structures
    • Drilled piers
    • High voltage duct bank installation
    • Spread footings
    • Grounding systems
    • Environmental compliance requirements
    • Substation equipment and structures
    • Substation electrical systems and controls
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and company standards.
  • Manage and monitor subcontractor contractual performance and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate field activities with project management, engineering teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Review and audit site safety documentation including Pre-Task Analyses (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs).
  • Complete daily field reports and maintain photo documentation of project progress.
  • Review subcontractor 3-week look-ahead schedules and identify upcoming constraints or concerns.
  • Verify delivered materials meet project specifications and are properly stored and maintained.
  • Witness equipment setting, alignment, testing, and restoration activities.
  • Perform system walk-downs to confirm compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and manage punch lists for incomplete or non-compliant work.
  • Ensure current drawing revisions are being utilized in the field.
  • Support field change order execution and scope modifications.
  • Assist with project staffing, tool management, and materials coordination.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&IDs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of construction management or craft supervision experience on T&D projects; OR
  • Associate Degree with 9+ years of construction management or craft supervision experience on T&D projects; OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years of construction management or craft supervision experience on T&D projects.
  • Strong background in transmission, distribution, and substation construction.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Must reside within 70 miles of the greater Boston area.
