Position Overview

Pay range: %2421.80 - %2435.45 / hour


Shifts: full time evenings (8 or 10 hour shifts)


Schedules: 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., 11 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. (8 on/6 off) or 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday)


Sign-on bonus: %245,000 new hire sign-on bonus may be available (full-time only)

Job Description

To perform, check accuracy and report results of routine and moderately complex lab procedures on body tissues, fluids and other substances as specified by lab supervisor. To perform reagent preparation, quality control, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance with assistance from a Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Technician Lead or Supervisor.

Associate's degree in a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Students in a related associate's degree program must obtain degree within nine (9) months from date of hire to classification. Must be certified as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) within fifteen (15) months of hire date. Depending on the unit/department or if the position works directly with patients, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.UAB Hospital-Highlands705403000 Labs-HLNDRegularEntry Level
