Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
NEBB certification required, CP or CT
5 years of experience in TAB work required.
Excel skills required.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical principles.
Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with airflow hoods, manometers, anemometers, and other testing equipment.
Company vehicle provided, must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Certifications
Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) Technician Certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Safety Certification
Key Responsibilities
Marking up drawings for TAB reports
Putting together all sheets in Excel for equipment
Testing and Balance of all equipment with any notes of deficiencies
Writing Punch Reports if needed.
Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC air and hydronic systems.
Measure airflow, water flow, static pressure, temperature, and humidity.
Inspect HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping systems.
Adjust dampers, valves, fan speeds, and control systems to achieve design performance.
Troubleshoot HVAC system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Prepare detailed TAB reports documenting findings and system performance.
Verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local codes.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and building owners.
Calibrate and maintain testing instruments and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
