Schedule: 8:00am-4:00pm

Pay: $41.25-54.25/hr

Job Description:
We are seeking a Tactical Buyer to support procurement activities for critical government contract programs. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, execute purchasing strategies, and ensure the timely delivery of materials, components, and services required to meet production and program objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with experience in manufacturing and government contracting environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute tactical purchasing activities in support of government contract programs while ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company policies.
  • Manage the complete purchase order lifecycle, including requisitions, order placement, supplier follow-up, expediting, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Prepare price analyses and price reasonableness determinations in accordance with FAR requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review technical documentation including engineering drawings, specifications, and statements of work.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while developing contingency plans.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, business standards, and government contracting requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, or tactical buying experience (Master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience may be considered).
  • Experience supporting government contracts procurement with knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
  • Background working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience preparing price analyses and supporting supplier negotiations.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Understanding of AS9100 quality standards.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), refugee, or individual granted asylum in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience procuring avionics, machined components, raw materials, or aerospace-related products.
  • Experience with Certified Cost or Pricing Data.
  • Experience using Costpoint, Exostar, Windchill, SharePoint, JIRA, and/or Tableau.
  • Aerospace, defense, or government contracting industry experience.
