The Tactical Network Engineer serves as a subject matter expert for the Army’s backbone communication systems. This role is critical for bridging the gap between high-level network architecture and tactical execution in the field. The engineer will configure, verify, and test newly fielded equipment, ensuring it aligns with the broader architectural intent of a resilient and diverse network. While focused on hands-on implementation, the candidate must understand the principles of advanced network design, including the integration of varied transport paths like satellite, cellular, and terrestrial links. This position provides systems engineering oversight and direct support to units, identifying and resolving issues to maintain the integrity of our tactical communications infrastructure.
