Overview:

The Talent Acquisition Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Bank''s talent acquisition function. This position leads and develops the recruiting team while remaining actively engaged in full-cycle recruiting for senior, executive, and other critical positions. The Talent Acquisition Manager partners with business leaders to develop talent strategies that align with organizational goals and workforce plans, serves as a trusted advisor on recruiting and compensation matters, and drives continuous improvement across the recruiting lifecycle.

This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, building talent pipelines, enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience, managing recruiting technology and external vendor relationships, monitoring recruiting metrics, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. The Talent Acquisition Manager also leads recruiting initiatives that support organizational growth, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic business initiatives.

What You'll Do:

A Day in the Life - No two days look exactly the same, and that''s part of what makes this role exciting. You might start your morning reviewing recruiting metrics for executive leadership, spend the afternoon partnering with a hiring manager on a critical leadership search, coach a recruiter through a challenging candidate situation, negotiate an offer, meet with an external search partner, and wrap up the day brainstorming new sourcing strategies or process improvements with your team.

You''ll lead and develop a talented recruiting team, while staying actively involved in recruiting yourself. You''ll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, helping them navigate talent challenges, market conditions, compensation discussions, and hiring decisions. You''ll also manage recruiting vendors, oversee recruiting projects, monitor the department budget, and help shape the future of Talent Acquisition at German American.

What it Takes:

  • Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of corporate recruiting experience, including experience recruiting professional, senior, or executive-level positions.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring a talent acquisition team or recruiting function.
  • Leadership experience with a passion for coaching and developing others.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing passive candidates using multiple sourcing techniques and building talent pipelines.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted recruiting consultant.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting best practices, employment laws, and selection processes.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting technology.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate recruiting data into meaningful insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead projects, navigate change, and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to professionally de-escalate challenging situations involving candidates, hiring managers, or other stakeholders.

Bonus Points:

  • Financial services or banking recruiting experience.
  • Experience managing recruiting vendors or external search firms.
  • Employer branding or recruitment marketing experience.
  • Experience supporting talent acquisition strategy during mergers, acquisitions, or organizational growth initiatives.
  • Experience leading ATS implementations or recruiting technology projects.
  • Lean, Change Management, or continuous improvement experience.
