The Talent Acquisition Specialist manages the recruitment process from workforce planning through onboarding while delivering an exceptional candidate experience and building talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs.

In addition to recruiting, this position provides onboarding, offboarding, and HR administrative support, assists with employer branding and workforce planning initiatives, and contributes to continuous improvement of recruiting processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive recruiter with experience sourcing passive candidates, developing talent pipelines, and successfully filling difficult-to-recruit positions in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities from workforce planning through onboarding for positions across KEW and its affiliated companies.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce needs, technical requirements, hiring priorities, and desired candidate profiles.
  • Develop recruiting strategies and source qualified candidates using job boards, professional networking, employee referrals, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, military transition programs, industry associations, community outreach, social media, and other sourcing methods.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions through ongoing relationship development and passive candidate sourcing.
  • Screen resumes, conduct candidate interviews, evaluate qualifications, and provide hiring recommendations to managers.
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, employment offers, hiring documentation, and communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coach hiring managers on interviewing techniques, candidate selection, and hiring best practices.
  • Track recruiting metrics, analyze hiring trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance recruiting effectiveness.
  • Represent the organization at career fairs, recruiting events, educational institutions, and community outreach activities to strengthen employer branding and attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities including pre-employment requirements, background checks, drug screenings, new hire paperwork, orientation, and system access.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding activities including separation documentation, exit processes, and related administrative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee, applicant, and recruiting records within the HRIS and ATS Systems.
  • Provide HR administrative support including reporting, compliance tracking, employee communications, documentation, and special projects during periods of lower recruiting activity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, applicant, and company information while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates and developing candidate pipelines.
  • Experience coordinating multiple concurrent recruitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ATS and HRIS systems.
Preferred
  • Experience recruiting skilled trades, engineering, technical, industrial, construction, manufacturing, utility, or energy positions.
  • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding.
  • Experience working in a multi-company or multi-site organization.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers on workforce planning.
  • SHRM, PHR, AIRS, LinkedIn Recruiter, or similar recruiting certifications.
  • Exposure to Alaska-based workforce environments or remote field operations
